Dr. Sophina Luitel earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Her research focused on audio sentiment and emotion classification using machine learning algorithms and spectrogram-based approaches. She aims to advance affective computing by combining computing, psychology, and design. Her goal is to create systems that detect and respond to human emotions, enabling more intelligent and user-aware applications. Before her Ph.D., she worked as a Business Intelligence Analyst. She led data system transitions, performed data analysis for informed decision-making, and developed effective data visualization tools. Dr. Luitel has extensive training in education through roles as a teaching assistant and instructor, where she developed interactive teaching methods and supported diverse student learning.
