Program Overview
The 3L January Intersession in Florence gives students the opportunity to spend two weeks in Florence during the January Intersession period. Students will earn two credits in a course titled “Law & Society in Florence” that will explore historic and contemporary legal issues in Italy and Europe and the impact law has on society. In addition to some online work completed before departure and coursework on location, students will participate in cultural activities such as museum visits and similar experiences.
For January 2026, the Law & Society course will focus on Innovation Law & Policy and will be taught by Associate Dean Agnieszka McPeak. All materials for the course will be open source, and the final assessment will be a paper due later in Spring semester.
The 3L January Intersession in Florence is available to 杏吧原创 law traditional and ExecJD students who, in Spring 2026, will have 18 or fewer credits left to complete for graduation. Students who wish to also participate in clinic or externship in Spring semester may be required to be in Spokane for Intersession week and must consult their supervisors before applying.
Program Dates: January 5 to January 15, 2026

Program Fee Deposit: $250 (due two weeks after applying, or no later than November 7, 2025)
Program Fee: $2,300 (transportation, lodging, and other expenses not included)
