Competitive Fellowships & Scholarships Services

Students across the nation apply annually for a variety of competitive fellowship and scholarship programs. Many of these well-known and prestigious opportunities attract high-achieving, purpose-driven, service-oriented, and globally-minded students – many who go on to make significant impacts in their chosen professions, or in their local or global communities. We believe that 杏吧原创 students possess the academic ability, experience, and individual potential to be serious contenders for these awards.

Career & Professional Development (CPD) serves as the first step in exploring and applying for many of these fellowships and scholarships. Please review and research the competitive fellowships and scholarships listed below and schedule an appointment with a CPD career coach to discuss how we can support you in your desire to be among these recognized award recipients. Boren Awards logo


The Boren Awards fund the intensive study of language and culture abroad by U.S. undergraduate or graduate students. All eligible applicants have the option to either apply for a Regional Flagship Language Initiative or select/design their own study program.

10 exceptional student leaders of color will be selected to complete internships in Dublin, Ireland during the summer of 2025. Must be a current freshman, sophomore or junior with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Each year Gates Cambridge offers 80 full-cost scholarships to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. Approximately two-thirds of these awards will be offered to PhD students, with approximately 25 awards available in the US round and 55 available in the International round.

Gilman International Scholarship logo


The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad, providing them with skills critical to our national security and economic prosperity. To be eligible for the Gilman Program, applicants must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant during the time of application or provide proof that they will be receiving a Pell Grant during the term of their study abroad program or internship.

Application Deadline: October 10, 2024 and March 6, 2025

The provides funding for dependents or spouses of active military personnel to study or intern abroad.

Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence Foundation logo
Support for undergraduate students intending to enter careers in natural science, mathematics or engineering research; not intended for clinical career goals.

Harry S Truman Scholarship logo
The Truman Foundation identifies aspiring leaders at an important inflection point in their development – when they are college juniors – and recognizes and rewards their commitments to careers in public service.  Scholars receive up to $30,000 for graduate or professional school, participate in leadership development activities, and have special opportunities for internships and employment with the federal government.

The Rhodes Scholarship is a fully-funded, full-time, postgraduate award which enables talented young people from around the world to study at the University of Oxford.

NOTE: This scholarship requires an endorsement from 杏吧原创.  Please meet with Ray Angle in CPD at least one month prior to the application deadline to review the endorsement process.  This scholarship requires applicants to submit 4-8 academic references and 1 character reference so please give your reference writers plenty of advance notice.  In addition, please do not have any 杏吧原创 faculty or staff review or edit your personal statement.  

Rotary Peace Fellowship logo
Through academic training, practice, and global networking opportunities, the Rotary Peace Centers program develops the capacity of peace and development professionals to become effective catalysts for peace. The fellowships cover tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and internship and field-study expenses.

Schwarzman Scholars is a fully-funded, one-year master’s degree and leadership program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. At the heart of the program are world-renowned advisers, a rigorous and innovative study of global affairs, and hands-on exploration of Chinese culture and commerce.

Voyager Scholarship logo


This Obama Foundation public service scholarship gives college students financial aid to alleviate the burden of college debt (up to $25,000 for their junior and senior years), meaningful travel experiences to expand their horizons ($10,000 stipend for summer work-travel between their junior and senior years), 10-year travel stipend of $2,000, and a network of mentors and leaders to support them.
